"When you give someone a book, you don't give him just paper, ink, and glue. You give him the possibility of a whole new life."

Texas Association of Authors

SXSW in Austin and TAA was There!

The Texas Association of Authors objective is to provide opportunities to help market a member's book to the general community residing within Texas.  This may be accomplished through book sales on TAA web site, through book events and other avenues of marketing and sales designated by TAA.  There is no guarantee that any Author will sale their book through any of these events or programs.  Other educational events will be created as the desire and need is demonstrated by the TAA membership.

2012 Texas Association of Authors Book Awards

Calling all Texas authors and publishers! We’re proud to announce the first annual Texas Association of Authors Book Awards, conducted to honor the year's best that Texas Authors have written and published.  We are now accepting entries for books with 2011 or 2012 copyrights or released between January 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012.

The Book Awards were conceived in 2011 as a broad-based, unaffiliated awards program open to all Texas citizens and Publishers, who produce books written in English and that, are intended for the North American market.

The awards are intended to bring increased recognition to the thousands of exemplary independent, university, and self-published titles published each year in Texas and by Texans.

The TAA Book Awards reward those who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity. Independent spirit and expertise comes from publishers of all sizes and budgets, and books are judged with that in mind. National entries will be accepted in 24 categories, with an early-bird entry fee of $35 good through March 15, 2012, then $50 until our final deadline of May 15, 2012.

Outstanding Books of the Year – all TAA entry entrants are automatically considered.
